LIFT MECHANIC/LIFT SUPERVISOR

Beaver Valley Ski Club is seeking a highly motivated, accountable, safety-conscious individual to join our Operations team.  The role reports to the Head Lift Mechanic and Operations Manager, and will work closely with members of the Operations department.

During the non-operating season, this role will assist the Head Lift Mechanic in performing all aspects of summer maintenance on all types of ski lifts.  During the operating season, the employee will be responsible for hiring, training and supervising all new and returning Lift Operators, monitoring staff performance, evaluate and start stalled lifts, breakdowns, evacuation and emergency procedures along with required communications and documentation for each situation.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to give directions, interact positively with Members and guests and communicate effectively with staff are essential.

Compensation

The Employee will be compensated based on qualifications and experience.  Pay will be bi-weekly through direct deposit. 

  • The Employee may be required to attend industry related conferences or take courses that will further the Employee’s professional development.  The cost of such will be covered by BVSC at the Manager’s discretion.
  • The Employee is eligible for certain Club privileges, discounts on Club programs, membership for family members and sliding activities where applicable.
  • All privileges will be clearly defined by the Operations Manager and reviewed on a yearly basis. Privileges and Benefits may be taxable as per the Canadian Revenue Agency.
  • The Employee is eligible for meal discounts.

Hours of Work

During the operating season, it is expected that Club operating hours and special events, both mid-week and weekend, will influence the number of hours required during any given week.  It is expected that the required hours will be worked to ensure the success of all administration, membership and financial programs.

During the off-season, it is expected that the Employee will work a standard 40 hour work week, unless otherwise required by the Operations Manager.
